Welcome
September Featured RPG

"And the Dreamer Dreamed of Mutants" is an original superhuman RPG with a hybrid narrative and sandbox style. This means that, in addition to an on-going often reality warping board-wide plot that you, humble members, can influence through your character's actions, we also adore the more personal inter-character plot and give you free-reign to explore our unique setting.

We are rated 2-1-1 (or PG-13) and welcome all, no matter who you are or where you come from.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

IF ANY OF THIS MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE TO YOU, IT IS FROM THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY SERIES. THE SECOND BOOK. IT IS BASICALLY A RESTAURANT THAT IS STUCK AT THE END OF THE UNIVERSE. LOOK IT UP IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE. ANYWAY, ENJOY THE CHAT THAT NEVER HAPPENED AT THE END OF THE UNIVERSE.

THANK YOU.

Alex sat at a very large table deemed for the people of the "AtDDoM" world. Apparently, he had been the first to arrive, even though most time is meaningless here at the end of the universe.

He hoped he wouldn't meet himself sometime during this meal. He vowed to himself that he would never come back to this place. Then he vowed that he would break his previous vow if and only if he really wanted to come back. It was quite a great place after all.

A waiter came over to his seat, "Can I get you anything to drink?"

"I'll have an orange soda."

Even though he was in this exotic place, Alex still loved a good soda. He didn't really feel like trying a Hoobringing Habernaugit or a Tolly Kazoo anyway. Better to stick with what you do know rather than getting your face blown off by something you don't know.

He hadn't ventured out into the universe at all before, so this was definitely a new experience. He hoped that he could talk to some other people of his own world though. Talking to aliens got a little weird. But he still didn't want to spend all of his time here arguing over differing principles (debating is a different story entirely). This was out of time of course. Or rather, at the end of it.

He wondered who else would come. He had invited a few members of Alpha Squad along with him, and some members of Chrysalis would probably show up too. Some unaligned people and people of other organizations were also bound to show up. It was a big world after all, and there was plenty off room at the table.

Alex waited patiently for his soda as he watched a far away planet explode into a million little pieces. This view of the end of the world was great. Hopefully the host will be as great as the end of the universe, which was actually pretty hard to beat.

This is weird.

This is really weird.

Riley had repeated that to herself since arriving, because... well ... what was more weird than a party to celebrate the end of the universe?

She'd been wracking her brain to think of something, anything, anything at all, any anything, but nothing came to mind. Her life had been pretty boring up until now, and she doubted that her brother finally owning up to his bad deeds counted as weird.

It wasn't hard to find the AtDDoM table.

That was weird in itself. Weirder than aliens? Weirder than everything ceasing to exist? Probably not, but considering all the trillions of beings in attendance, finding a needle in a haystack would have been child's play.

But there it was.

She paused and looked at Alex.

"You certainly look human enough."

One thing that had crossed her mind was the issue refreshments. The hosts seemed happy enough to let a 15 year old human in, but then again she wondered if that had any meaning now... And if her age did indeed mean nothing anymore, then did that mean she could order something stronger than soda or juice for a change?

She supposed she should asked a waiter about it at some point.

Finally, there was somebody else here. Alex was starting to get a bit bored just sitting around waiting for the show to start, and a blue and yellow creature with a multitude of arms kept giving him a weird look. He wasn’t even sure if the thing was a he, she, or just an it. Either way, it was starting to give him the creeps.

“Technically a mutant, but I’m not entirely sure that matters here. Take a seat, there are plenty at the table.”

He paused, letting the new girl take a seat. He hoped some other people would show up. It isn’t the end of the universe unless you got a real party going. Alex decided to stay on the topic of their own world for now, since they probably could talk about it easier than this odd place. Probably best to exchange names first.

“I’m Alexander Lee by the way. What’s your name?”
